The CF Team's Beauty, Health and Fitness Resolutions 2024

While we don’t believe in putting undue pressure on yourself when it comes to New Year’s Resolutions, as a team we’ve been discussing some positive, exciting things we want to achieve in terms of health and beauty goals this year.

Including the exercise routines that actually inspire us to workout and simple changes to shake us out of a beauty rut, these are the CF Team’s beauty, health and fitness resolutions for 2024.

I’m not one for resolutions but the 1 January is always a good place to kick off a good habit. I think journalling is great for mental health and to take the pressure off oneself. I love the Five Minute Journal from Intelligent Life and this, I hope, will become a consistent part of my morning and evening routine. I have also signed up for a half marathon in June so as far as resolutions go, I’ll be upping my running, pronto!

I’ve decided that 2024 is the year I’m a little more experimental with my hair, so I’m ready to take the plunge again and go back to blonde. However, I really don’t want to compromise on hair health – over the past year, I’ve been avoiding lots of heat styling and hair dye to keep it as glossy as possible. To keep my hair in good condition while still getting to the brighter blonde hue of my dreams, I’ll be booking into the Nicola Clarke at John Frieda salon. Here, you are always in safe hands when you want a hair transformation.

As winter has drawn in, I’ve been forgoing my morning walks along the beach in favour of an extra hour in bed. I’m keen to bring them back into my day-to-day routine, come wind, rain or shine. Not only are they a simple way to add some extra movement into my morning, I’ve noticed that they help me feel more energised all day long – even if it is a particularly rainy or cold day. Besides, what better excuse for a long, steamy, hot shower before getting dressed for the day.

Now the winter is here I’ve been hugely slacking on my exercise – staying home in the warm is much more appealing. But, come January, I want to get back to doing Reformer Pilates three or more times a week; it’s the only exercise I’ve found that I truly love after testing many forms over the years. I’ll be booking into the very stylish Nobu Pilates studio in Marylebone for some pre or post-work strength and toning sessions.

I’m keeping it simple with a no-fuss resolution: mindful walking. Sometimes, when in the bustling heart of London, it’s easy to rush through life without truly seeing it. So, this year, I’m dedicating at least 30 minutes each day to walking – not as exercise but as a meditative practice. It’s simple but will make a big difference, both physically and mentally.

Last year I committed to finally stop biting my nails, which I did successfully thanks to constant gel manicures. However, my nails have become fragile as a result and are still struggling to grow. So, this year’s resolution is all about taking care of them. I’ll be regularly applying my Protein Formula I Strengthen oil, as well as using the Manucurist Huile Verte Cuticle Oil to get them stronger and healthier. Our beauty editor has also suggested I book in for some gentle nail maintenance at So.Shell – the nail salon every beauty insider is raving about.

2024 is going to be the year that I actually remember to take my vitamins. When I do consistently take my NaturesPlus multivitamin and Betters Vits Omega 3, I see an improvement in my energy, skin and sleep. I also love the Better You Vitamin D spray, which is great for grey winter months when we don’t get enough sun. Although I’m absolutely religious about making sure my kids take theirs every morning, I often forget to do the same. So from now on, I’ll be popping my supplements at the same time as my boys.

I first discovered Kundalini yoga and the power of meditation and breathwork when I was studying, and it helped me totally transform my sleep, mindset and output for the day. I am going to try and spend five minutes in the morning (instead of blindly reaching for my phone) meditating or sitting peacefully with the help of an app like Balance. I also promised myself I’d find a local yoga class so I’ll be on the look out for that too.
