Where To Woo In Paris With Jeanne Damas

There’s nothing more romantic than a trip to the City of Love and French ‘It’ girl Jeanne Damas knows a thing or two about Paris.

Jeanne spent her childhood playing between the tables of her parents’ restaurant near Bastille. It was the memories of the Parisian women she observed so fondly that sparked her desire to create a fashion brand allowing women to express their femininity freely. Born in 2016, Jeanne’s brand, Rouje, is a love letter to women.

Here, Jeanne shares her must-try spots for a romantic dinner in Paris, as well as tells us where to steal a kiss and what to wear for date night, inspired by her own impeccable style.

Your favourite hotel to check-in at is

Château Voltaire is the latest hotel designed by my friends at Festen Architecture, and is in the heart of Paris, between Opéra and the Tuileries.

Where should we go for a long, lazy lunch?

Le Square Trousseau. This used to be my parents’ restaurant – the place I grew up in. It has a beautiful view of the Square Trousseau and you can take a stroll afterwards to the Marché d’Aligre.

Your favourite restaurant in town?

Clamato, a rustic seafood restaurant, or the elegant bistro Le Clown Bar. I love the food and ambiance at both.

And for dinner with friends?

Aux Deux Amis is charming and cosy.

A must-try spot for date night?

À L’Épi d’Or, it’s a quintessential Parisian bistro with authentic vintage interiors.

The best place for people watching…

La Belle Époque during Paris Fashion Week or Hôtel Grand Amour.

The culture spot to rave about:

Galleries in the Marais district such as Ropac, Perrotin, Galerie Karsten Greve and Sans Titre. You will always discover new artists.

Best vintage shopping?

Le Marais also has many vintage boutiques. My favourites are Nuovo, Snow Bunny, Nice Pieces and Predilection.

For the best views head to…

The Basilica of Sacré Coeur on Montmartre.

Souvenir to take home?

Totally kitsch: a magnet for the fridge.

The one place only locals know about…

Le Square Gardette and the area around it. Try Amatxi for lunch or La Mode Vintage for great shopping.

How should we spend the final day of our trip?

At the Saint Ouen flea market on a Saturday or Sunday followed by lunch at Bonne Aventure – make sure to make a reservation two days before.

What’s your Paris secret?

Discover the city by foot, and always look up – there are so many beautiful details on the façades.
