This Week CF Loves

This Week CF Loves: 26.02.24

As we start to see the beginning of spring, so do we see favourite restaurant openings and new wardrobe pieces. We are embracing comfort and elegance, combined with day-to-night transitional pieces for refined leisurewear to sport all day long.

This week, we are also welcoming new wellness practices – and new ways of understanding them – into our routines thanks to this series of talks. This focus on the body and mind also has us looking ahead to warmer months, where Planet Earth concert tours and a community and design-led boutique hotel in Panama await.

EAT HERE Sale e Pepe

Knightsbridge insitution Sale e Pepe celebrates its 50th anniversary and to commemorate its golden jubilee, the restaurant has given itself a revamp, paying homage to its rich legacy with its touch of ‘la dolce vita’ in London. Since its opening in 1974 on Pavilion Road, Sale e Pepe has been a staple of the city’s dining scene attracting regular locals as well as a glittering clientele of politicians, film stars, fashion icons, and royalty. Its new iteration brings you low lights, atmospheric dark blue walls, intricate wallpaper, and bronze mirrors drawing inspiration from the townhouses of Milan. And with its menu, it reflects the true Italian ‘famiglia’ culture of sharing, lending itself to some great options including classics such as Vitello Milanese and Linguine all’Aragosta, Salt Baked Whole Seabass for 2, Tagliatelle Caviar and a large selection of Crudi. The perfect spot for a daytime espresso or an evening martini, this space will no doubt become a popular meeting place for London’s stylish set.

GO TO THIS Bodyism 'Body Talks'

Kicking off this week, wellness brand Bodyism welcomes guests to a series of new monthly ‘BODY TALKS’ exploring the meaning of wellness with luminaries in their fields. Favourites to book in for include ‘The Art of Positive Ageing‘ with Dr Koniver, a specialist in cutting edge treatments and biohacking methods designed to optimise cell performance and longevity, as they discover the secrets of maintaining health and beauty inside and out (21st March); and, ‘East by West: Food to balance the mind, body and spirit with Jasmine Hemsley’ with Jasmine guiding you through her philosophical approach to food and how it powerfully supports our health (30th May).

STAY HERE Amarla Casco Viejo, Panama

In my constant quest for stunning little hotel finds, Amarla Casco Viejo has been duly added to my list. A refreshing and significantly different addition to the Panama hotel scene, Amarla (translated to ‘purity’) Casco Viejo is an eight-room boutique hotel located in Panama’s most historic UNESCO-designated region. The British entrepreneurs behind the hotel made a statement with their first property in Cartagena, putting a marker in the sand with its genuine values rooted in local culture, community and design. This new property comes with a lot of a soul like few other hotels in the area – with a big focus on authentic experiences and wellness – meaning guests leave feeling better than when they arrive. Designed to offer you the chance to experience understated luxury and local Panamanian culture, every facet of the property is inspired by the local rich heritage: from the architecture to the locally influenced restaurant Kaandela. And for wellness travellers, you’ll be pleased to know that the ultimate wellbeing experiences lies in the healing hands of the hotel’s certified wellness instructor, who guides guests through a series of breathwork, meditation, and yoga sessions, followed by a debrief in the bar with a cleansing herb-packed smoothie. Authentic local experiences, art, incredible design, visiting practitioners, make this one of the most exciting, and forward-thinking, properties not only in Casco Viejo but in Panama itself.
